The Receiving Dock Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and
managing the receiving process of incoming goods and materials.
This role ensures that all shipments are accurately checked,
documented, and efficiently processed to maintain smooth warehouse
operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational
skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate
effectively within a fast-paced work environment.
Warehouse Receiving Dock Coordinator Responsibilities:
Oversee the receiving dock operations, ensuring timely and accurate
processing of incoming shipments.
Coordinate the unloading of inbound trucks, ensuring safety and
compliance with operational procedures.
Verify the accuracy of received goods against shipping documents
(e.g., purchase orders, packing lists) to ensure correct quantities
and product quality.
Supervise and train receiving dock staff on proper procedures and
best practices for handling, inspecting, and storing incoming
materials.
Maintain organized records of all incoming shipments, including
discrepancies, damages, and returns, reporting issues to the
supervisor.
Collaborate with inventory control and warehouse management teams
to facilitate efficient stock replenishment and placement of
received items.
Conduct regular audits of received inventory and coordinate with
the inventory control team to address any product quality
issues.
Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and best practices within the
receiving area, promoting a culture of safety and compliance among
staff.
Assist with creating and maintaining standard operating procedures
(SOPs) for the receiving dock operations.
Qualifications
Warehouse Receiving Dock Coordinator Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment,
preferably in a receiving or inventory management role.
Strong knowledge of receiving processes and familiarity with
warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a
strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to
interact professionally with staff, drivers, and vendors.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high
level of accuracy under pressure.
Proficient in using standard office software, including Microsoft
Office Suite.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50
pounds.
Capability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Comfort working in varying warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature
variations, noise).
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if
necessary.
