The Shipping Dock Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all
shipping operations warehouse. This role involves coordinating the
loading of finished products onto delivery vehicles, ensuring
timely and accurate shipments to customers, and maintaining
effective communication with various teams to optimize shipping
processes. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational
skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a
fast-paced environment.
Warehouse Shipping Dock Coordinator Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of the shipping process, including the
scheduling and loading of outgoing shipments.
Train dock personnel to ensure operational efficiency and
compliance with safety regulations.
Verify the accuracy of shipping documents, including bills of
lading, packing slips, and shipping instructions.
Collaborate with transportation partners to optimize delivery
routes and schedules, ensuring on-time deliveries to customers.
Maintain accurate records of shipped items and manage shipping
documentation using inventory management and shipping software.
Conduct regular inspections of shipping equipment and dock area to
ensure compliance with safety standards and operational
procedures.
Resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues in a timely manner,
maintaining clear communication with affected parties.
Implement best practices for shipping operations to enhance
productivity and reduce shipping costs.
Assist in the training of new employees on shipping procedures and
safety protocols.
Qualifications
Warehouse Shipping Dock Coordinator Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution
environment, with a focus on shipping operations.
Strong computer skills, including experience with shipping and
inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention
to detail.
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced
environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively
interact with team members, management, and external partners.
Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations in a
warehouse setting.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50
pounds.
Capability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Comfort working in varying warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature
variations, noise).
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if
necessary
