  • Level 1 Academic Medical Center in Mississippi is looking for dayshift RN good in a fast paced Ortho/medical environment.
    • Job Requirements
    • Experience or 'Must have' skills: level 1 trauma experience required. Experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes.
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a. Travelers are expected to fill holes but managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows. Open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required.
      • Every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of department.
      • Rotate in with regular staff for holiday requirement.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Both. Nurse managers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adult house supervisor. Charge takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed. Educator and manager for each unit. Smaller units share manager and educator.
        • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: All units.
        • RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP at night, RT to help, high flow on 2n.
          • Additional Details
          • BLS; 50 mile radius rule.
          • FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT - Remote process must allow 10 days, In Person can be done at Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to start.
          • LOCAL Candidates accepted @ $60/hr.
          • 1:5 nurse to patient ratio.
